LATE SPORTING.
NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES. SOLTANO PUTS UP A RECORD. (Received Last Night, 5.25 o'clock.) SYDNEY, Sept. 21. At the Rosehill races yesterday, New Zealand-owned horses won two races, a Mew Zealand-bred horse won the Guineas, and an ex-New Zealander won the CameHa Stakes. Soltano showed great pace and gameness. It was a fine achievement to beat a horse of Gigandra'a calibre, the latter being favourite for the Epsom Handicap. The results are as follow: Rosehill Hurdles. Wliakaweira (F. Flynn) 1, King Lucre 2, Dyor 3. There were fourteen starters including Beacon and Don Quex. The latter fell and broke hie leg and had to be destroyed. Won by four lengths. Rosehill Guineas. Beau. Soult 1, Rodnor 2, Tofua 3. There were ten starters including Cherubini and Athetjic. Won by two lengths. Camellia Stakes.—Valido 1. Abbeite 2, Golden Hop 3. Seventeen started. Won by a length. Spring Stakes.—Soltano T; Gigandra 2, Cider 3. There were thirteen starters including Emperador. Won by a head. Time, lmin 40isec, being a quarter of a second above the Rosehill record time for a mile.
