waipoua erooK sale. Messrs James Macintosh * ,»nd Co. report having field' their iniual weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) saleyards on Wednesday, June 4th, when they offered a very good yarding of sheep and cattle well above advertised numbers, whiah were well competed for throughout the sale, consequently there was a clearance, with the exception of one pen of sheep and six head of cattle. Among our entry of sheep there was a line of 575 fat and forward ewes which, after keen competition, were sold at 13s 3d. Other prioes were as follow: Forward ewes 10s, store ewes 7s, ewes in lambs (very poor) 5s to 7a 4d, fat and for. lambs 10s 7d to 12s 9d, s.m. ewes in lamb 9b Bd, fat ewes 15s 4 to 16s sd, ,fat wethers and ewes 17s, small b.f. lambs 6s lid, small lambs 6s, 18-mos heifers £3 3s 6d, 18-mos steers £3 14s, yearling steers £2 lis £5 2s, £5 14s to £6 17s 6d, store cows £3 Is 6d, £8 lis, £3 17s 6d, empty cows (poor) £2 4s, £2 9s to £2 lis, yearling heifers £2 lis, weaner mother-reared steers £2, weaner steers 19s.
