FOUND DROWNED

(By Telegraph. —l'rs?* Association.) ASHIIUJITON, Last Night.

The old man who was found drowned yesterday afternoon has been identified as Edw.ud Jones, aged about 82 years, lie was a stranger to Ashluirton, and was staying at a board-ing-house, where he arrived from Christ-church on May :23rd. On Sunday morning he left the boardinghouse for ;i walk, but did not return. He had a Savings Bank account of £IOO. The police are trying to ascertain if any of his relations are in the Dominion.
