MOTOR 'BUS SYSTEM.
Some months back we urged that the time had arrived when Masterton should seriously consider the question of installing a motor 'bus system. Most of the enterprising townships in the Dominion are turning their attention to this system, which has become very popular in older countries. Hastings, which is a younger and slightly smaller township than Masterton, and is in a district that is not nearly so thickly populated as this, has already a motor 'bus service which is said to be paying well. The matter is ono for private enterprise rather than for municipal action ; and we are surprised that those of our wealthy settler s and townspeople who are looking for profitable investments have not takerf the matter up before this. The cabs, drags and motor oars have done, and are doing, good service for the town. But they must, in the process of evolution, give way to the motor 'bus for the conveyance of > parties of people and for the delivery "of goods in and around tho town.
