PRISONER ESCAPES
A-\"D IS RECAPTURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. About 2 o'clock this afternoon, Allan Moody, a prisoner awaiting con-! veyance 'to the Terrace gaol, after appearing in the Court on a confidence trick charge," escaped from a cell at the police "station. It is stated that' ' another man Avas in the cell with Moody," and' the iron bars, protecting the fanlight over the cell door. Avere torn away from the AvoodAvork, and through the opening Moody made his exit. He Avas noticed by a cook employed in the police station, climbing over a fence between the Magistrate'?.) Court premises and the Supreme Court Yard. An alarm Avas given, and Moody was recaptured after being at liberty only a foAv minutes. His cell mate had not made any attempt to get nAvay.
