WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Government Meteorological Office, issued tho folloAving report this evening The storm area, which has now passed to the eastward, has net been remarkable for a low glass or the steepness of its gradients, but for its duration and intensity and capriciousncss of tho weather experienced.- The conditions are still gloomy and cold, with decreasing southerly "winds. The barometer has risen", especially in the north.
Present inclinations mro for fair to cloudy weather, with sbewerr: in parts. Breezes, generally moderate and variable, decreasing southerly, and probably giving way shortly to freshening easterly and northerly breezes. The' barometer will probably rise slowly in .tho .north, a.ixl fall in the south vaf.fccr froln 24 to 3G houus.
