Few pecple realise how coiroprehens-, ive is the treatment of stock by the modern freezing works. Not a pound of the sheep is really wasted. A visitor to. the Waingawa works would discover that the carcase is frozen,, the hide tanned, the wool scoured .and packed, the offal placed in the dfigester, and the tallow- extracted, the remainder'-'converted into man(Ure, and even the trotters and blood utilised. There is, in fact, not a semblance of -waste in the whole business. It is "this utilization of waste .products that:.enables the freezing company to pay such satisfactory prices for its .stock.
