WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of delegates to the Wairarapa Cricket Association was held last night, Mr E. Collinge presiding over a good attendance. The annual repox-t was read and adopted.. . ' Consideration of the balance sheet was held over till the next meeting to be held on, October 12th. <
Officers for the ensuing year- we..*e elected as follow:—Persident, Mr"W. C. Buchanan, M.P.; Vice-Presidents; r (to be elected at next meeting); sec-' retary and treasurer, Mr L. 11. Smart; delegate to the New Zealand Council, Mr G. F. Weston; auditor j Mr T. Jordan; selection committee, the captains of the senior teams and Mr E. Collinge. The' time for receiving entries for the various' competitions was extended to the 13th pros. . - '
. A notice of motion for amending the rules governing the competition of the Lord Hawke Cup was considered, and jt was eventually resolved that the Association's delegate be instructed to support the ■mpnon-'t-hat the Cup be awarded to the winner of a tournament, to lie arranged each year by the New Zealand Council, among the sec-ond-class Associations.
Mr D. Caselberg's..bat was awarded to F. J. Beechey in recognition of his century (112) against the Nelson team.
