(Received Last Night, 11.30 o'clock.) '*'■ yJSt>NT)ON; :: Septeniher 29. The Court of Criminal Appeal has quashed the sentence on a man nam ed Ellison for murdering has sweerheart at Clerkenwell on August 19fch, on the ground that the evidence of the principal witness required corroboration.
This is the first time a -capital conviction has been set aside.
