The Ultimatum issued by Italy haa produced consternation in official circles, which comment upon it most strongly. The Powers' neutrality has keenly disappointed the Turks. It is reported that the Porte has decreed to reject the ultimatum's demands, and to address an explanatory communication to the Powers.
Seventy Deputies met and resolved to invite title Grand Porte to convene the Chamber at the earliest possible date, not later than October 14th. The tone of the meeting was very hostile, the Cabinet stating semiofficially that the ultimatum demands the evacuation of Tripoli and Cyrertaica within twenty-four hours. Ghazi Mukhta, Vice-President of the Senate, Said Pasha, President of the* Senate, and Ahmed Riza Bey, President of the Chamber, attended an extraordinary Council.
