THE PREMIER'S "BLUFF."
Tlk Prime Minister of this country is a. past master in what, in political parlance, is euphoniously termed "bluff." Has. latest attempt to ''bluff 5 ' flie constituents of t(he country is in regard to the land settlement in the Dominion during the last decade. . In the course of a speech in the House on Wednesday night, he (Stated that an tlie past, ten years 16,715 selectors had taken up 4,844,865 acres of land, which .meant
on an average of four to each selection,, (that 66,000 people had been piit upon the land. We challenge the Prime (Minister to prove that 16,715 original and iper.manenit new settlers .have (been placed upon the land during the last ten years, and that these represent 66,000 souls; The Official Year Book at once contradicts, such a- statement, which has l>een;.made, apparently, for no other purpose than to mislead the electors.
