Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast:— A westerly area of low pressure of moderate intensity has passed in ■the south and affected the weather conditions evierywihere, but especially on the western' coast of both islands. Present indicationis. are for moderate .to strong Westerly winds, veering to South. The barometer will probably rise every wthere soon. Changeable conditions are now reported, -and unsettled and . cloudy)weather may be looked for at times in miost parts ofithe country, and precede fair weather generally. <
