RIFLE RANGE AND MUSEUM.
. A FORMAL OPENING. The miniature rifle range and museum at the Masterton District High ' School are now practically completed,, and it- has been decided' to hold •a formal opening of ; the two departments at an early "date, when the public will be affordeil an oppottun-, ity of inspecting the buildings, inV eluding the new wood-working room. ■ The exterior iron walls of the firing, shelter have yet to be painctedA witM ftwo coats iof oil paint, of approved colours, and the roof with one good! coat of oxide paint, and roofs and exterior parts of screens above the fence line with one coat of oxide. The walls and ceiling of the unpointed roam in the museum are also to be (treated with three coats of oil paint, of approved; /tints, The headmaster has been authorised to obtain quotations, for some glass that is -required to coyer one of the show cases in the museum, and the mem-bers-of the committee have decided to arrange the exhibits on - day night next. It is understood that Major McDonald has passed the work of. the contractor in connection with the rifle range, hut an official report' is not yet to hand.
