MASTERTON HOMING CLUB
INTERVAL RACE
T3ie Ma-sterton Honnng Pigeon Club flew an interval race from Wellington yesterday.. There were ten bird competing, representing ten lofts, and they were liberated at ten minutes intervals by Mr J. J. Elliott. The airline distance was 57 miles, and! the winning birds put up a fast velocity. Every, bird homed in the same order as they were liberated, thus 1 proving the good quality of the hirds competing. Mr J*. Bradbury acted as judge.: The* following is the result:— Mr S. Hoar's "Bed, Gauntlet," time Ihr. 34mm!, velocity 880 yards per minute, 1; Mr E. Wiekens' "Windage," time 1 hr. 38rain., veJocity 859 yds per minute, .2: Mr W. Dowling's "Hasty," time lhr. 41min., velocity 850 yds per minute, 3. The following are the leading members in the young bird aggregate, five races being flown.:—E. Wiekens 5, J. Dixon, 4, S..Hoar, J. Diggins, A. Miller, ... Bowling and R. Person 3 each, W. Gourlay and W. Hoar-2 each.
