The dis- : tances will be 200 and 500 yards seven shots at each. There was only a poor attendance > at the meeting convened last even- j ing for the purpose of renewing interest in the ladies' hockey club. | The weather was unfavourable, A j practice on Carrington Park is to be j held to-morrow afternoon. An enjoyable social was held last evening in the Fire Brigade Hail oy the memhers of the Wairarapa NoLicense League. The attendance was very good considering the weather, and similar socials are to be j held monthly. At St. Mark's Church, tc-day, Miss Emily Clark, daughter of the late Mr J. Clark, of Ahiaruhe, was married to Mr Leslie Hodder, son of Mr John Hodder, of Wanganui. The bride, who was given away by Mr J. Clarke, looked neat in a dainty semiemoire gown of creme voile, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of maiden-hair fern,'asparagus fern and cosmos. She was attended by her sister/ Harriett, and Constance and Eva Hodder, sisters of the bridegroom, who were attired in dainty gowns of white silk with hats to match, and trimmed with plumes. Each carried bouquets of maiden-hair fern, and cosmos. Mr P. Reid was best man, ar.d the Rev. R. Young tied the nuptial knot. After the mony an adjournment was made to the luncheon rooms of Mrs A. L. Whvte, where a reception was held. Mr and Mrs Hodder left by the afternoon train for Welliagton en route to Auckland to spend the honeymoon Their future home will be at Wanganui.
