WEATHER FORECAST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. i WELLINGTON, April 3. The Kev. D. U. Bates' summary ' and weather forecast is as follows: - The barometric pressure increased during the night, and southerly , winds, strong to gale, prevailed. .Southward of New Plymouth and Napier heavy rain fell in parts and snow on higher levels in the South. A thunder storm occurred off the East Coast of the North Island. The weather has bsen fair io the North today, but very changeable in the South. Present indications are for strong westerly winds, generally fair weather northward of New Plymouth and Napier, but unsettled and stormy weather in the South. The barometer is unsteady.
Mr J. C Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at the Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Wednesday was 7 points.
