ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP AN HOTEL.

An attempt was made to destroy the Upokongaro Hotel last night, gelignite being exploded on the roadway in front of the hotel. Every window was smased, but otherwise no damage was doi»e. The explosion was heard a-mile away. lhe police are investigating. Later. In connection with the explosion at the Upokongaro Hotel the police suspect that the outrage was committed by a Mexican, named Laurent, who is supposed to have commited: suicide in the river, a coat and vest being found near jhe ferry boat on the river bank, opposite the hotel. The police are now dragging for the body.
