EKETAHUNA STOCK. SALE REPOKT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., re- j port at their weekly sale at Eketahuna:—We offered a good average yarding in sheep of all classes. For I all wethers and strong lambs we had strong competition, all selling under the hammer at sound rates, but for all ewes in poor condition and failing ' mouths there was practically nu sale j unless vendors were prepared to ac- I cept boiling down prices. A few j pens of cattle came forward, and met with good market, aerates fully up to last sale. Store pigs were hard to dispose of. Light 2-tooth wethers made \ 10s, forward ewes 7s lOd, good woolly lambs 7s Id, shorn 5s 9d, small woolly I 4s, small shorn 3s, culled 2-tooth ewes 9s 6d, aged ewes 3s 6d to 7s 6d; 2yr steers 655, 2yr heifers 50s, slip pigs 8s 6d, stores 15s. | Messrs Abraham and Williams, i Ltd., report on their Eketahuna ; stock sale held yesterday as follows: —Sheep came forward up to adver- j tised numbers, but the sales now be- \ ing held weekly account for the yard- j ing being smaller than those previous- > lly held during the last month. The attendance was satisfactory, but outside buyers were conspicuous by their absence, and the sale for sheep dragged somewhat at auction, but on the whole we made a good clearance, only one vendor being compelled to take his sheep home Cattle were well competed for, business at auction ing animated, young steers being particularly in demand.
