Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having he id a most successful sale on account of Mr James McPherson, of 650 head of young steers, in the Pahiatua Farmers' yard? on Wednesday, lbth instant. Although the weather was inclement a large gathering of buyers were present from all parts of the district, Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, and West Coast being well represented. The cattb offered were a good lot, and had been I carefully drafted. Bidding from the commencement of the sale was brisk, and every lot offered changed hands j under the hammer, a great many I af the lines going to the West Coast and Hawke's Bay. Prices were as foJlowd:—One hunderd 2 to 2£ year steers, £3 12s; 63 do at £3 10s 6d; 50 do at £3 10s; 100 do at £3 9s; 19 do at £3 33; 61 do at £3 12s; 50 do at £3 15s; 40 do at £3 9s: 100 10month steers, £2 17s; 69 do at £2 18s. j

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held a very succes3ful clearing sale on account ot Mr George Manning, at his homestead at Opaki, yesterday. There was a very large attendance of buyers, and competition throughout the sale was brisk. The stock offered were all in first-class order, and met with a ready sale. The horses elicited keen competition, and we have to report a total clearanse of all lines 1 offered before the close of the sale. { All farm implements were sold at satisfactory rates. They quote as follows:—Ewes in lamb, 13s Id, 13s 6d to 14s 6d; hoggetb, 9s 7d; [ wethers, 13s lid to 14s: rams, up to one guinea; pet lambs, 14s; empty ewes, Bs. Cows in milk. £5 14s, £6 7s 6d; springing cows, up,to £9; 2yr heifers, £2 7s 6d; 18 month heifers, £2 ss; Shorthorn bull, £2; draught geldings, £2O; to £35; draught mares, £25, £25 ss, £3l, up to £37; half draught brood maie, £l2 10s; 3yr colts and fillies, £l4 to £l7 ss; 2yr filly, £ll 10s. Implements at satisfactory rates.
