GOLF.

Golfers at Killara had an exciting time on Sunday, which may yet lead ito an interesting position (says the {"Sydney Daily Telegraph"). The ■ caddv was the cause ol it. A crowd | of these useful youths met the visit- ' ing golfers at the railway station, j and informed them point-blank that they would have to caddy -frr themselves, accompanying the det claration with a round of cheers. jj The boys then marched to the links, | and made a noisy demonstration out- • side the fence. They were interviewed by the secretary a"d others, who elicited the information that the trouble was caused by the caretaker ordering three of their caddies oit the links. The others became indignant, , and struck. They made t use of the opportunity to proffer a demand for eighteenpence around,

instead ot the smiling previously paid. This demand was met with refusal. The boys then patrolled; outside the fence, making demonstra tioris against the players and two "loyalist" caddies. Their efforts were successful, as the latter soon made excuses for leaving the ground, and alone the golfers played the game, and searched patiently for btray balls. They may have enjoyed if, but it was with weary feat they finished their rounds. Later they came to the determination that they | would caddy for themselves utu.il I they think the lads have learned 1 a lesson. It is yet uncertain whether the boys will form a union I and ask the assistance ot the Labour Council in their struggle.
