GISBORNE SUPREME COURT.
By Telegraph—Press Association. GISBORNE, March 4. At the Supreme Court, to-day, His Honor Judge Edwards presiding, Norman McLaod. for theft of a horse, saddle and bridle, was sentenced to two years' hard labour. The case against Joseph Hannon, for alleged horse stealing, was adjourned owing to the failure of the principal witness for the prosecution to attend. A warrant was issued for his apprehension, and later he was arrested by the police for drunkenness. The jury disagreed in the case of Edward Beniface for alleged breaking and entering. A new trial was | ordered for Monday. James Straker Jackson was found guilty of assault and sentencsd to six months' imprisonment. Louisa Margaret Price was admitted to probation for twelve months on a charge of having made a false declaration to the Registrar of Births.
