MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.

The monthly meeting of the Mauriceville County Council was held on Saturday last. There were prossnt. —Crs F. W. 11. Kummer (chairman), C. Churchill Jackson, H. J. Dagg, C. Forsberg, and 0. Isakson. A circular letter was received from the Auckland City Council, requesting the co-operation of local bodies in endeavouring to secrue the repeal of section 25 of the Local Bodies Loans Amendment Act, ISOB, which appoints the Public Trustee sole sinking fund commissioner, and restricts investments to Government securities. The Eketahuna County Clerk wrote directing attention to a bridge on the County boundary which required je-decking. The overseer reported that he expected the. metal patching on Dreyer's Hock Road to be finished in a few days, when he proposed to send the drays to Jackson's Road. The section metalled by the Government on Managamahoe Road had been left in a rather rough state, hut as an equivalent to that five chains additional fcietiiliirg had bee" doi.e on Barton's Hhjtf! near the s-liool. The bridge on Road had been unavjidbut v.'ould be put in to get the bridge (Morgan's Road) rethe Bruce Read frontage. to get the Pound repainted. to £175 4s 2d were passed for payment.
