V.R.C. MEETING. By Telegraph —Press Association. Received March 3, 9 p.m. MELBOURNE, March 3. The V.R.C. meeting was continued i to-day. The following were the rej suits: — I Hurdle Race.—Alert 1, Dream 2, \Aringa 3. Time, smin 47|sec. Ascot Vale Stakes.—Sunny South 1, Mala 2, Barm 3. Won by one and three-quarter lengths. Time, lmin Is£sec. Australian Cup. —Pendil 1, Delenda 2, Signor 3. Flavel, Somnambulist, Pendil and Dyed Garments were last into the straight. Delenda forged ahead on the outside. The field closed up at the riverside, Little Lad and Flavel leading together b> a length, Pendil improved his position at the bridge and ran into second place. Dyed Garments and Nushka each put in a fast run rounding the turn, then a most exciting race commenced. Pendil, in the centre of the field, led Delenda, who was challenging him on the outside. Pendil, well ridden, got home by half a length, two lengths separating second and third. Five Crown was fourth. Time, 4min OJsec. Steeplechase.—Kororvit 1, Player 2, Wolseley 3. Won in a canter by six lengths. Time, 4min lOisec. Bourke Handicap. Maltine 1, True Scot 2, Monodist 3. Won easily by four lengths. Time, lrnin 263 sec. Junior Handicap. Sporry 1, Apple Pie 2, Patronatus 3. Won by a leng h and a half. Time, lmin 15isec.
