POLLARD'S OPERA COMPANY.
"BLUEBELL IN FAIRYLAND."
Pollard's Opera Company gave the last performance of the present season at the Town Hall, Masterton, last evening, to one of the best housesjof the sessm. The charming comedy went with a swing from start to finish, the many pretty scenes being productive of continual outbursts of applause. The play is abundantly provided with choruses, which Pollard companies can sing so well, while the solos, duos, and trios, were also encored without exception. The piece has lost none of its freshness since it was last produced in Masterton, and everyone in the audience who saw the last performance must have been pleased to renew acquaintance with"Bluebell,"and sympathise with her in her troubles, wnich ultimately have such a well deserved ending. As "Bluebell," Miss Minnie Topping was, as usual, thoroughly satisfying, both in her singing and acting, i'- aster Kert Nicholson and Norman Mudford as "Blib" and "Blob" were both immense, and kept the audience in a simmer of merrir-ent. Mr Ernest Schatz, as the reigning kina; was very successful, also Mr Chas. Albert as the queen. The numerous other characters were also capably filled. The season just concluded by this favourite Company is probably f he best four-night one ever accorded to a visiting combination by Masterton audience, the four peiformances drawing full housej, while on Wednesday night the amount taken at the doors, £l4O, is said to be a record for Masterton at the prica.
