ATHLETICS.
By Telegraph--Presa Association. CHKISTCHURCH, February 17. Tne Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, at a meeting to-night,' considered a resolution forwarded by the Christchurch Council, to the effect that the interests of sport would be best served by leaving the conduct of the 1909 Championship meeting to the Otago Centre. After discussion it was agresd by four to three "that after carefully considering the resolution forwarded by the Council in Christchurch this centre decides that one Championship meeting will be in the best interests of athletics, and agrees to forego its claim to the Championship meeting in Christchurch, and decides tu send a team to Dunedin on March 20th, but this centre does not recognisa the Executive as the body controlling the Championship tq be held at Dunedin."
