THE CALEDONIAN HOTEL.
THE FINEST HOUSE IN NAPIER. Napier has the enviable reputation of being one of the prettiest and healthiest seaport towns in the Dominion, and without a doubt that reputation is well merited. People from all parts of the Dominion flock there, either to enjcy a pleasant holiday or to recuperate their health, Wairarapa certainly gives a big quota of visitors to Napier, as it is within a few hours train journey and the fares are reasonable. People are often perplexed, however, as to a suitable place to stay when there, and, in the absence of information, are unaDle to book accommodation ahead. In the future, however, this question should not cause a moment's anxiety, for a house that can offer the best of accommodation and attention, and which is certainly not excelled in any metropolitan city in New Zealand, is the Caledonian Hotel, in Hastings Street, under the management of Mr A. C. Barnes. This imposing structure was only recently erected, is three stories high, luxuriously furnished throughout, and conducted in a manner that impresses the mark of superiority upon it. A magnificent sea view is obtainable from the spacious promenade roof on the third floor, the bedrooms are large, airy, and well appointed, the table is firstclass, the attention of the very best, and the charges reasonable. The Caledonian is sure to be well patronised by Wairarapa visitors to Napier in the future, and they can rely upon a hearty wlcome from Mr and Mrs Barnes.
