MASTERTON STOCK SALE. £
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows on their Masterton stock sale held yesterday:— More stock in both sheep and cattle came forward than was advertised. There was a good attendance of buyers, and no doubt owing to the recent rains most of the stock yarded was quitted at satisfactory prices. We quote:— Sheep—Fat wethers, 13s; 4-tooth wethers, 12s 2d to 12s 6d; 2-tooth wethers, lis; ewes and lambs (all counted), 6s lOd to 7s lOd; ewes with lambs, 14s; fat and forward ewes, 10s 9d. Cattle— Fat cows, £4 to £5; empty cows, 29s to £3 8s; cows in calf, £3 lis to, £4 Is; empty heifers, 2-year-old, £2 to £2 7s 6d; yearling to 18-month heifers, 25s to 30s; 15-month mixed sexes (good), £2 ss; 2-year old steers, £2 7s; yearling steers, 29s 6d; calves, 12b to 14s 6d.
