CHRISTMAS GOODS AT AITKEN'S.

Since Mr C, C. Aitken took over the old-established bookselling and stationery business from Mr R. T. Holmes, he has carried out many improvements to the interior of the premises, and has now one of the most spacious and up-to-date shops in town. He is now in a position to display to the best advantage his extensive and well-assorted general stock, as well as a very fine selection of articles, particularly suited for Christmas and New Year presents* The list of books suitable for presentation to young and old is practically unlimited, but all of a superior character. Leather goods, toilet goods, handkerchief and work boxes, and other useful lines are exhibited in great variety, and are all reasonably priced. Of children's toys, however, Mr Aitken has secured a really splendid assortment, and parents will find no difficulty in making a selection from the assortment on view. Suitable articles for the amusement of children can be bought at prices ranging from one penny to one pound. These prices make it possible for every child in the community to receive a present that will act as a reminder of the festive season, and Mr Aitken and his staff will doubtless be kept busy throughout to-day and this evening in attending to the requirements of customers.
