EXCHANGE OF SITES.

THE LATEST OFFER. The visit of the Hon. Mr McGowan to Masterton last night was taken advantage of by a Wairarapa Age reporter, to ascertain if anything further was available regarding the proposed exchange of sites with the Trust Lands Trust. The reporter ascertained that a new valuation of the Department's site and the two sites offered by the Trust had been made and the difference was found to be £1,400 in the DeDart-ment's-favour. In spite of this large difference in value, however, it was proposed to offer the Queen street site to the Trust fur the two sites offered by the Trust and £SOO. This offer was to be submitted to'the Trust for consideration at its next meeting.
