AUSTRALIA'S GENEROUS OFFERINGS. Received-November 30, 8.37 am. % LONDON, November 29. ] The Most Rev. Dr. Carr, Catholii Archbishop of Melboure, was re- \ ceived in audience by the Pope, who expressed gratitude for "Peters's pence," amount to £2,000, from the clergy and faithful of Melbourne. His Holiness also thanked the Bishop of Ballarat (Dr. Higgins) for a donation of £I,OOO, and the Archbishop of Hobart (Dr. Delay) for a generous offering.
