A "letter from the InspectorGeneral of Hospitals was received in reply to a communication from the Trustees, expressing the opinion that the Trustees were legally responsible for fees of Commissioners appointed to adjust the dispute over the estimates between the Trustees and the District Hospital Board. The reply was considered satisfactory. A letter was received from the Wellington Education Board with reference to the Trustees' decision to grant a supply of water to the Lansdowne school from the Hospital main on payment of £25. The letter stated that the Board thought that such a sum was excessive, and pointed out that as any supply from the hospital main would only be temporary until the completion of the Lansdowne water scheme, and as the school was not being erected for profit, the connection might be granted gratis.—The Trustees decided to adhere to their previous decision. The matter of better ventilation, lighting, and providing a milk safe for the second isolation ward at the Hospital was left to the Chairman and Mr Harris to attend to.
