As a purely social question, hs gladly welcomed any action of those in authority which •limited the opportunity for bringing in amongst us what is called the Continental Sunday. He could not approve, on religious grounds, of the fining of heathen Chinese for working in their gardens on Sunday, but he did approve of the enforcement of regulations for the well-being of society.
