"TURNED TURTLE."
SIR T. BENT AND WOMEN'S FRANCHISE.
Received October 13, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, October 13.
Sir Thomas Bent, the State Premier, addressing a meeting, announced that he had "turned turtle" on the women's franchise question, and intended to introduce a necessary measure. He added that he hoped the women would have the franchise within a year.
