OTAGO v. WELLINGTON. , ■ BY TELEGRAPH—PBESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, September 19. Easily the beat Rugby game seen in Wellington this season was played on the Athletic Park this afternoon, before a crowd of 8,000, which was moved to the highest pitch of enthusiasm by the playing. With a strong wind in their favour in the first spell Wellington put up 9 points—two penalty goals by Mitchinson and a try by Evenson, but it was evident that Otago still had a good deal of energy in reserve. This was proved in the second half, as Otago ran up 11 points in the first seven minutes, Casey, Don and Iviney scoring tries, one of which Patterson converted. Wellington played up for a little, but Patterson landed a wonderful goal from a mark, bringing' the total to 14. Wellington then got away and Ready scored. Otago, 14; Wellington, 12. Fitzpatrick next scored a tty for Otago. Otago, 17; Wellington 12. With two ininutes to go Wellington got away and Mitchinson ran' over half the ground and scored. Roberts' kick just failed. The game ended—Otago, 17; Wellington, 15. Mr Angus Campbell refereed. ,
