Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Tuesday was 1.81 inches.

The following is Captain Edwin's weather forecast to 3 p.m. to-morrow: —Moderate to strong westerly wind, northward of East Cape, Taupo and Kawhia; southerly, strong to gale generally thence to New Plymouth, Cape Farewell and Kai&oura, and generally strong south-easterly elsewhere; rising barometer everywhere, and especially on East Coast between Cape Campbell and East Cap'j.
