NEW SUPERINTENDENT APPOINTED. WELLINGTON, June 19. Mr W. S. O'Brien, who has been acting-superintendent of the Wellington City Fir 3 Brigade since Mr Hugo resigned, has been appointed superintendent of the Brigade. A large number of applications were received for the position. Abcut eighteen months ago Mr O'Brien was appointed deputy superintendent of the Brigade. He has been in the fire-fighting business ever since he was thirteen years of age.
