FOOTBALL.

On the Masterton Association Football Club's ground, at Lansdjwne, on Thursday afternoon last, a match was played between teams chosen by Messrs G. S. Lawrence and W. S. Smith, respectively, resulting in a win for the latter eleven by 5 goals to 2. ihe game through • out was of a very even character, each end being visited in turn, and it was only towards the finish that the winners scored their last three goals. Several new players showed excellent form, and quickly grasped the rules of the game, and there can be no doubt but that after a little further practice the Club will have a very good eleven.
