METEOROLOGICAL.
At 9 a.m. yesterday Captain Edwin Issued the following forecast for the subsequent 24 hours:— Wind.—Southerly, moderate to strong at all places northward of Napier, Taupo, and Kawhia, but northerly strong to galo after 16 hours thence southward to Kaikoura and Hokitika and after ten hours ■elsewhere. Barometer. Little movement northward of Napier and New Plymouth; fall soon at all other places. Rain.—There are indications for rain after 16 hours at places from Napier and Wanganui southward to Lyttelton and Hokitika, but earlier vthence southward. Warning signals for northerly gale is exhibited at Cape Foulwind, (Farewell Spit, and Nugget Point, and will be exhibited at Cape Campbell after sunrise.
