This fixture was played at Dalefield, the visitors being defeated by 22 points to 5. Masterton's try wa& scored by Hawke. Mr J. Nicholls was referee. TE ORE ORE V. MARTINBOROUGH. These teams met at Morison's Bush, the game ending in favour of Te Ore Ore by 23 points to 4. Tries were scored for the winners by Raharuhi (3), Tory, Mason, and Hector. Inter-club football matches commened to-day, in fine weather. Results:— Alhambra (8 points) beat Kaikorai (nil), University (6 points) beat Union (3 points), Taieri Rovers (10 points) beat Southern (nil), Dunedin (13 points) beat Zingari-Rich-mond (3 points), Fort Chalmers 11 points) beat Pirates (10 points).
At the meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union on Friday night, the Wairarapa Union made application for half of the proceeds of the coming match, Bush Union and Wairarapa (combined) v. the British team. It was decided to inform the union that it would be quite impracticable to grant their request.
