BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSCCIVTIOX. WELLINGTON, April 26. Saturday's play in the New Zealand Chess Congress advanced the championship to the ninth round, which is nearly half completed. There are two more rounds to be j played, and when these are finished every player will have met every i other competitor, and upon the aggregate of points—one for win and half for a draw—will be decided the championship.
