A DARING NIGHT ATTACK BY MOORS. Received April 19, 4.18 p.m. MOROCCO, April 18. Hoping to destroy the final section of the Oran railway, three thousand Moorish horsemen and two thousand foot soldiers, organised by the preachers of the Jehad (or Holy War) for the interior made ,a daring night attack upon Colonel Peirron's camp at Talzazu defile, westward of the Benzirez railway station. The Foreign Legion with zonaves and sharpshooters, after a desperate light of six hours, repelled the attack and pursued the Moors for nine miles. One hundred and twenty five dead Moors were found in the camp, besides many hundreds wounded. Colonel Pierron lost 28 killed, including one officer. There were 102 wounded, including 64 _ European non-commissioned officers and men.
