Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, "Wellington, have received the following cable messages from their London Houae, under dute of the 9th instant:— Butter. Market weak. The ■■Copenhagen official quotation is 2 .kroners (about 2s 3d) per cwt. lower. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending 4th inat. is 70,000 cwt., as compared with 94,000 cwt. for tho corresponding week of 1907; showing a •decrease of 24,000 cwt. Salted, 108s; unsalted, 110s. Frozen Meat.—The demand for lamb continues, and the market is .firmer. The market for mutton is .firmer, and the demandjconfcinues. There is less demand for beef, but prices are firmer. Our quotations for New Zealand descriptions are:— Prime crossbrad lamb, Canterbury heavy, 5Jd, light s|d; prime crossbred lamb, North Island heavy 5Jd, light s£d; prime crossbred mutton, 'Canterbury heavy, 4Jd, light 4§d; prime crossbred mutton, North Island heavy 33d, light 4£d; prime ox beef, fores 3J'd, hinds 4d. Rabbit skins. —Fair to good quali- • ties higher by $d per lb. Other descriptions are higher by Jd per lb. Out of an offering of 1892 bales, 1505 bales were sold. Tallow.—Since our last advices, prime mutton tallow is 6d per cwt. higher. Mixed, good to prime,'at par to 3d per cwt. higher. Low and inferior descriptions are a shade -easier. Hides.—Market dull. Leather. —The market is a shade easier. Basils in general are lower by Jd per lb.
