The game was a very willing one foi' so early In the season, and resulted in a draw, a try being scored by each side. Hebley scored for Stars and Minnett for Masterton. Mr T. G. Hoar was referee. A junior fixture between tha same two clubs resulted in the Star team having an easy win, their score totalling 20 to Master ton's 3. Four tries were scored for the Red Stars, Ball converting every one, a try heing also registered by Masterton. Several friendly games were played in other centres in the Valley to mark the opening of tho season. The members of the Masterton third class team will meet in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms on Wednesday for the purpose of electing a captain and selection committee for the present season.
