HORSES KILLED BY A TRAIN.

NAPIER, April 12. A stock *rain ran into a number of horses on the railway line between Napier and Port Ahuriri, at about 11 o'clock on Saturday night, killing four of them and injuring one. The horses belonged to the Maori* who are working at clearing and road formation on the Whare-o-maraenni reclaimed land.
