BIG GUN ACCIDENT.

A PREMATURE EXPLOSION. A FORTUNATE ESCAPE. SYDNEY, April 11. The authorities are enquiring regarding the premature firing of a 9.2 gun at the Heads. While the huge gun was automatically rising from the pit it suddenly fired. Fortunately, the muzzle was clear of the pit walls, or the shell would have blown everybody in the pit to fragments. A gunner was severely cut by the flying sight.
