CHRISTCHURCH, February 25. The fifth and last sale of this season's series of local wool sales was held to-day, when 2,020 bales were offered. There was a small attendance of buyers, nearly all of whom were local men. For the few lots of merino, and for any good halfbred. there was fair competition up to a certain limit, but in the case of halfprices were much below the levll of the previous sale. For crossbreds and inferior sorts there was an improved demand at rather better prices than those obtained at the previous sale. The range of prices was:—Medium merino, 8d to9Jd; inferior, 6Jd to 73d; medium halfbred, Sd to 9}d; inferior, to 72d; threequarter■bred, 4§d to G|d; medium, crossbred, 6d and 7fd; inferior, 4jjd to sfd; Down wool, 7d to 8d; lorig•wool, 4id to 6Jd; lambs wool, 2d to 6d; merino pieces, 6hi) to 7d; halfbred, pieces, 5d to 6fd; crossbred pieces, i|d to 4£d; locks, TJd to 4d.
