STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. report on the several sales held by them during Show week as follows—On Monday, 17th inst, Mr Wm. Perry's dispersal sale of English Leicesters took place. Breeders were present from all over New Zealand, and a total clearance was made at prices which constitute a record :for this class of sheep. The top price paid for rams was 65 guineas—Mr W. L. Grice, of Rangitikei, securing the two-shear ram Roberts 4th at this figure. Other purchasers were : Mr G. E. Jackson, of Waikato, ewes two guineas to 8$ guineas, stud ram 51 guineas; Mr John McCarthy. Hamilton, ewes 15 to 25 guineas;ram lamas 5 to 7 guineas; Mr S. R- Lancaster, Palmerstor North, ewes 1J to 10 gtiineas, rams 3 to 4 guineas; Mr R. jD. D. McLean, Maraekakaho, ewes 6 to 125 guineas, ram 3tS .guineas; A. Weston, New Plymouth, ewe lambs 3J to 85 guineas; Slack Bros., Palmurston North, ewes 35 to 17 guineas, ewe lambs 9 guineas, ram 5 guineas, ram lambs 11 to 13 guineas; New Zealand Government, ewes 25 to 12$ guineas; Birch and Sons, Moawhanga, ewes 75 to 17 ■guineas, ewe lambs 15 to 2J guineas, rams 10J to 11 guineas; C. and W. Hoskin, Bell Block, ewes 3 guineas; F. W. Peddle, Dargaville, ewes 1 to 2 guineas, rams 25 *» 7 guineas, ram lambs Ito 25 guineas. W. C. Buchanan purchased 1 ram at 31 guineas; A. Martin, 1 at 10 guineas; C. A. Leicester, Auckland, lat guineas; and Williamson, Hatumjv, 1 at 23 guineas. On and Wednesday we held our sale of Show fat stock, and submitted a lengthy catalogue in both sheep and cattle. Competition was keen, and prices were on a par with those ruling at the Show sale of 1907. The Maninanga stud cows and heifers were also submitted, H. Cowin purchasing one at 20 guineas, the balance being knocked down to A. Reside, at prices ranging from 7 to 10 guineas. J. Morris, of Homehush, obtained 19q for his pen of fat lambs, which is a record for Show lambs in this district. Quotations---Fat ewes 15s to 19s, maiden ewes 16s to 18s, fat -wethers 16s to 17s 6d, ewes and wethers 17s 6d to 18s 4d, lambs 14s 6d to 19s, fat bullocks £7 15s to £lO 2s 6d, fat cows £5 10s to £7. AA-the Ram, Fair on Thursday, we submitted a heavy catalogue of flock Lincolns and stud sheep. The sale was irregualr for flock", competition being keen for all the better quality good conditioned sheep, inferior ard low conditioned being neglected. Prices for the various breeds of stud sheep were as follow :—Stud Lincolns, on account of William McKenzie. 14$ to 165 guineas; account J. D. Hughes, 10 to IS guineas; account B. P. Lethbridge, 5 to 18 guineas; account D. McGregor, senr., 17 to 18 guineas. Stud Romneys—Account W. B. Allen, 5 to 31 guineas; C. Dorset, 5 to 125 guineas; account E. J. Riddiford, 17 to 60 guineas. Stud Southdowns—Account S. R. Lancaster, 5f to 8 guineas. Stud Shropsbires—Account B. Seth-Smith, 3to 8 guineas. Flock Lincolns— Account L. G. Bremer, 3 to 35 guineas; James Collins, 3£ to 85 guffbeas; A. Harding, 55 to 6guineas; J. D. Hughes, 3£ to 5 guineas; R. Johnston, 45 to 85 guineas; J. Macara, 2 guineas; D. McGregor, senr., 5 to 8 guineas; L. McKenzie, 3£ to 6 guineas; Wm. Perry, 5J to 95 guineas; P. J. Quirke, 1 to 3 guineas; N. Chisholm, 51 guineas; E. J. Riddiford, 35 to 5 guineas; H. R. Wilton, 2 to 25 guineas.

On Friday flock rams of all classes except Lincolns wore submitted. Good Romneys met with good demand. Black-faced rams were in better demand than last year; other breeds were neglected. Prices for our offerings were as follow .-—Romneys
