TOUR OF THE "PRO-BLACKS."
MATCH AGAINST LANCASHIRE. Received February 24, 7.53 p.m. SYDNEY, February 24. ■ The London "Daily Telegraph" says that the New Zealanders in their fifth representative match at Oldham, against Lancashire, were opposed by a strong team, and at all points the home team proved superior. Indeed, the colonials gave a disappointing display sustaining the heaviest reverse of their tour—one goal and six tries to two goals. They not only lacked the pace of the Home players, but the forwards failed to hold their own, and the game from beginning to end left no doubt as to the superiority of the Lancashire team. The points gained by the colonials were from two penalty goals which Messenger scored.
The "Daily News" described the "All Blacks'" play as disappointing.
