Received February 24, 10.12 a.m. SYDNEY, February 24. Nine inches of rain fell at Maitland, low-lying lands being flooded.

FLOODS AT NEWCASTLE. }

Received February 24, 10.9 p.m. SYDNEY, February 24. The low-lying country round Newcastle is inundated. Only the roofs of houses are showing in certain localities. Railway traffic is impeded, throwing numbers of mines idle. Stock have been ,removed from the farms lying along the Hunter River to the high lands.
