GENERAL COMMITTEE,
The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and'P. Association'was 'held' on Saturday afternoon. There were present —Messrs J. D. Cruickshank (chairman), R. Gray, D. Case!berg, H. Morrison, J. Morris, jnr., T. P. Lett, J. Strang, 0. C. Cooper, J. P. Perry, G. C. Surnmerell, B. Rayner, R. Johnstone, R. J. Dagg, W. McKenzie, W. Cooper, E. Harper, G. Shaw, A. J. Percy, W. Buick. The Finance Committee submitted the following financial sta'ement:— Dr. balance at last meeting, I £772 12s lOd; expenditure for month, £29 3s; receipts for month, £227 12s; cheques outstanding, £35 5s 3d; dr. balance at date, £538 18s 7d. Accounts amounting to £ls 10s [4d were passed for payment. The secretary was instructed to prepare a lisc of members whose subscriptions are in arrears, and submit it to the next meeting. The report was adopted. The Ground Committee recommended that a charge of £5 should be made for the right to exhibit a laughing gallery at the next show. The president and secretary were empowered to procure gruen feed for stock at the show. Mr W. Davidson, borough ranger, was empowered to take the names of any persons trespassing on the Showgrounds, and submit the same to the police. The report was approved. The secretary of the local branch of .the St. John Ambulance Association wrote offering the services of the Association's members on the Showgrounds at the Show. The offer was accepted, and in addition it was resolved to make a donation of two guineas towards the funds of the corps. 'On the motion of Mr J. Morris, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr W. Irons and his assistant for their services in extinguishing the grass fire on the Showgrounds on Thursday afternoon last; Mr J. Morris was appointed to the Ram Fair Committee vice Mr F. C. Lewis resigned, and Mr A. J. Percy was elected to the Luncheon Committee also in place of Mr Lewis. Messrs S. R. Gawith, J. Blundell and W. L. Carrick were elected members of the Association, and the resignations of Messrs V. Wardell, J. B. Green, and H. R. Wood were accepted. It was decided to endorse the disqualification imposed upon Messrs Bartlett and Green's horses by the Wanganui Agricultural Association. Various regulations in connection with the issue of gate passes and the style of tickets to be used at the Show, as recommended by the Finance and Ground Committees, were agreed to. , The following Stewards were appointed for the forthcoming Show:— (Judges x'tceiving, Messrs J.
